New Beginnings
DragonFly Artisans When two middle-aged people found each other and began a new chapter in life, a dragonfly pendant gifted early in our relationship became a meaningful symbol of our journey. Donald discovered that the dragonfly represents transformation, hope, and new beginnings. Its message resonated deeply with us as we built a life together and dreamed about creating a business of our own. When those dreams began to take shape, it felt only natural that the dragonfly would become part of our venture. Today, it stands as a reminder of our shared journey, our creativity, and the new beginnings that inspired the creation of DragonFly Artisans.
Meet the Makers
LeeAnn My macramé journey began in 2019, during a time when anxiety had taken hold of much of my life. I needed something that would quiet my mind, and I found comfort in creating with my hands. What started as a few simple wall hangings quickly became a passion. I spent hours immersed in tutorials, learning new knots, making mistakes, unravelling my work, and trying again. Every frustration was met with a small victory, and each piece taught me something new. Over time, I found my rhythm. Patience became part of the process, and confidence grew with every creation. Gradually, my own style emerged, along with original patterns and ideas that felt uniquely mine. Today, I am still exploring, learning, and evolving. Macramé is no longer just a hobby; it is a creative journey that continues to inspire and challenge me every day. Donald Donald for the most part is a jack of all trades. His lifelong quest for knowledge and engineering mind makes him uniquely gifted a providing solution to almost any problem. This combined with a huge array of hands-on experience and dabbling with crafting throughout his life make him a unique person. If LeeAnn has an idea, Donald manages to find a way to make it work. His journey began when LeeAnn was looking for wood angel wings, he surprised her by obtaining a laser to produce them that has evolved into a new artistic endeavor. Combining a skill set of making patterns, cutting, painting, assembling and layering he created unique pieces of art décor.
Slow craft, done right
How it's made
Sourcing materials
Every project begins with natural, sustainably sourced materials — unbleached cotton rope, reclaimed wood, and hand-selected beads and stones.
Designing by hand
No two pieces are identical. Each design is sketched and refined by hand before a single knot is tied or a chisel touches wood.
Slow making
Macramé is knotted stitch by stitch. Wood goods are shaped, sanded, and finished over hours. There's no rushing the process — and that's the point.
Finished with care
Every piece is inspected, trimmed, and packaged thoughtfully before it leaves the studio — ready to be gifted or displayed with pride.
What we stand for
Slow made
We reject fast fashion and fast craft. Every piece takes the time it needs.
Made with love
Craft is care. We put genuine attention into every knot, every cut, every finish.
Unique by nature
Natural materials mean natural variation. No two pieces are exactly alike — and that's a feature, not a flaw.
Gift-worthy always
Everything we make is designed to be shared. The perfect gift doesn't come from a shelf.
